Tuesday after Palm Sunday, 4/10/01Luke 20:20 Keeping a close watch on him, they sent spies, who pretended to be honest. They hoped to catch Jesus in something He said so that they might hand Him over to the power and authority of the governor. --NIV
In the name of the One Who stood the test, amen.
One of the reasons the Passover lamb was taken into the house four days before it was sacrificed was so that one could be certain it was without defect. So it was with Jesus. He was carefully tested, and found to be without sin. Each group of the leaders of the Jews sent a delegation to try to trap Him. At least some of them tried it more than once, but they couldn't find any fault with Him.
Truly Christ is the spotless Lamb of God. And because He is without sin, He is a worthy sacrifice for us--one that could take away our sins. Amen.
Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, we praise You for passing the tests the leaders of the people put You through. We thank You for the gift of Your perfection that You have given us. Help us to live as Your children, so that we may always praise and glorify Your holy name, amen.
