Wednesday after the First Sunday after Easter, 4/25/0Titus 1:15 To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted. --NIV
In the name of the One Who makes us pure, amen.
I remember giving a glass of water to a friend who was visiting, and the glass was obviously dirty. In fact, it had a big glob of peanut butter in the bottom of it. My brother and I argued about who was responsible for the poor job of washing the dishes. It was probably my fault, but I did a good job of passing the blame.
Would you drink from a dirty glass? After all the water that was poured into the glass was clean before it went in. The fact is, though, if the glass is dirty, the water is dirty. If the glass is clean, the water will be clean. That is how it is with people. If we have been purified through faith in Christ Jesus, then whatever we handle will be clean. But if we are polluted by unbelief, whatever we handle will be unclean. Think about it; the Internet is neither evil nor good in and of itself--it is what we do with it that makes it clean or unclean. The same goes for TV and everything else. So, if you find that the things you touch are unclean, then you need to be washed in confession and absolution (forgiveness). You also need to have your faith strengthened by the Means of Grace, then whatever you touch will be clean. Amen.
Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, we are week in our faith, but we trust in Your righteousness. Cleanse us from all unbelief so that nothing will be unclean for us, amen.
