Romans 5:11, 12 And not only this, but we also exult in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation. Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned… --NASB

Unlucky us: Adam sinned and we inherited death because of it. Deserving us: we sinned and therefore we get what we have coming. It hardly seems fair that all people should suffer the guilt of Adam and Eve. After all, we didn't eat that forbidden fruit. But we are all their children and carry in our bodies their disease of sin.

Lucky us: God doesn't give us what we deserve. Instead, Christ Jesus paid the penalty for sin in our place!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for winning salvation for us, for reconciling us with the Father. Keep us in the true faith so that we may glorify Your holy name forever, amen.
