John 4:42 And they were saying to the woman, “It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves and know that this One is indeed the Savior of the world.” --NASB In the name of the One Who is the Savior of the World, amen.
Thankfully for us, unbelief can be cured, and the cure is not expensive or difficult. In fact, the cure is a free to all, and without painful side effects. The cure is the Means of Grace--the Gospel in God's word, and the sacraments. Here, after the people of Samaria heard the Gospel from the woman at the well, they believed. Then, when they came to Jesus, they heard the Gospel straight from Him and their unbelief was further destroyed. May we all hear the Gospel regularly and be strengthened in the True Faith. Amen.
Prayer: Lord God, our heavenly Father, blessed is You name in all the earth through Your Son Jesus, Who, by the power of the Holy Spirit, became man in order to save man. Grant that we may always hear Your word, return to our Baptisms by daily repentance and absolution, and receive our Savior’s body and blood so that we may continue in the True Faith, amen.
