Matthew 28: 20b "And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." --NIV

In the name of the One Who is always with us, amen.

The alarm clock goes off, you shower, eat and go to work. You come home, eat, watch the tube, and go to bed. Next day you do it all again. It hardly seems to have any purpose or meaning. But the words we consider today were spoken right after Jesus told us to go and make disciples of all nations. Christ is with us in whatever we do. That can be a great comfort and encouragement to us because we know that He will prosper whatever is good and pleasing to Him. Or, it can be a warning of judgment, because there is nowhere we can hide from our Lord. At any time we can ask the question, is this something my Savior is going to be pleased with?

Use the time--even the boring time, that you have been given to bring glory to Christ. Live like you really do believe. Be offended when people cry, "Freedom of Speech" to promote perversity. Fight when Christians are censored for displaying their beliefs and ideas. Be compassionate to others. Be self sacrificing for the people God has placed in your life. Let your light so shine, as the apostle wrote, that men will see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Christ is with you. If you do good works, God will bless them. Your unseen partner will cause great and wonderful things to happen because of you. But if you cower in a corner, you will be found to be a worthless servant. Act boldly because Christ is with you. Amen.

Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, forgive us for the times when we drag you into things that are evil and harmful to us and others. Forgive us when we do not use our time and opportunities to bring glory to You. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit and give us the courage to act when and how You would have us act. Hold our hands through the difficulties of this life, so that we may praise and glorify Your name forever, amen.
