Matthew 1: 21--23 "She will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins." Now all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the Prophet, saying: "Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel," which is translated, "God with us." --NKJV
Christ is Born, glorify Him!
It has now been about two thousand years since the God-man was born. This event marked the beginning of God's solution to mans unsolvable problem--how to get back into God's good graces. The long awaited day came, and God made His home with us for a time. From the day of His birth on, Jesus lived a perfect life under God's holy Law. Every breath He took, every beat of His heart was dedicated to serving our heavenly Father, and saving fallen mankind.
He was true God so that His sacrifice would be infinite and eternal. He was true man so that He Himself could take the curse of the Law for us. Peace came for us as a little baby wrapped in strips of cloth. Here, lying in a feeding trough was the greatest warrior who ever lived. This is the one who is called "God with us."
Dear Christian, peace be to you this day and always because Christ is born. The promised one has come, and we have been made children of God by His blood. Amen.
Prayer: Dear heavenly Father, Your wisdom is beyond measure, Your grace and mercy without limit. We have rebelled against You, and You have made it all better. Give us Your Holy Spirit so that we look for salvation in no one but Your Son Jesus, in Whose glorious name we pray, amen.
