Ephesians 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. --NASB In the name of the One in Whom we are created, amen.
The relationship between justification and good works has always troubled people. Our sinful nature clings to the idea that there must be something we do to be right with God. But the Scriptures tell us again and again that justification is all God’s work. What about good works then? Well, they were prepared for us to do, because we were created in Christ Jesus to do good works. In other words, the purpose of God Justifying us is that we might do good works. The one is God’s free gift to us, the other is the expression of what we are. Amen.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, You won salvation for us and gave it to us as a free gift. Now that we are new people created in You, fill us with Your Holy Spirit so that we do the works that our heavenly Father prepared for us to do. Amen.
