Wednesday after Pentecost, 6/6/012Timothy 1:9 (God) Who has saved us and called us to a holy life--not because of anything we have done but because of His own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time. --NIV In the name of the One Who called us to a holy life, amen.
Sometimes we think we are pretty special, that God should love us because we are better than others. Other times we think we are worthless and wonder how God could love us. The reality is that the Holy Spirit called us because of His purpose and grace, and not because of what we have done.
That fact is both humbling and confidence building. We have nothing to brag about, and nothing to worry about. God loves us because He is love. And in love the Holy Spirit called us to a holy life. Praise be to God for His grace (love for us which we don't deserve) which He gave to us in Christ Jesus. Amen.
Prayer: Dear heavenly Father, Your Holy Spirit called us because of Your great love for us in Christ Jesus. Keep us in You love at all times, and help us to reflect that love to others. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
