Matthew 25:34
Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
--KJV
In the name of the King, amen.
Yesterday we considered the place where we do not belong, and why Jesus warns us about it. Although we don't belong there, it is a place where we could end up if we look to anything other than Christ Jesus for our salvation.
Today we see the place where we do belong. It is our inheritance. A kingdom prepared for us from the foundation of the world! The fact that it is a kingdom suggests that we ourselves must be princes. Here we see the great love of God for human beings: He prepared a kingdom for us at the foundation of the world. Then, when we threw it all away and became worthy only of the eternal fire, He sent His Son to redeem us.
Now, in His Son Jesus, we stand before Him worthy of the Kingdom which He has prepared for us. Praise and thanks be to God who loves us. Glory be to Him Who did not abandon us to the eternal fire which we deserve. Amen.
Prayer:
Dear heavenly Father, You love with a love that is beyond our understanding, and we thank you for it. You are blessed beyond blessing because you did not leave us to the destruction we deserved. Thank You for the gift of Your dear Son Jesus. Help us to cling to Him in faith by the Holy Spirit. Lift our hearts out of sorrow and self centered despair by the Gospel we see in the promised kingdom. These things we ask in the name of Your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ, amen.
