Thursday after Transfiguration, 3/01/01

John 19: 30
When Jesus therefore had received the sour wine, He said, "It is
finished!"
--NASB

In the name of the One Who brought our salvation to completion, amen.

There's nothing like a job well done. And our Savior completed the job
of salvation very well. As you remember, when the disciples were on top
of the mountain and Jesus was transfigured before them, God the Father
told them to listen to Jesus. One of the most important things that
Jesus said was, "It is finished!"

Those words are so important because they tell us that we don't need to
worry about doing something for our salvation, since it is done. Those
words should be the most joyful words we can every hear. Those words are
the Gospel itself. Amen.

Prayer:
Dear heavenly Father, thank You for sending Jesus to complete salvation
for us. We know that there is no way that we could ever have
accomplished salvation, and we are very glad that He spoke the words, "it
is finished," so that we know salvation is ours, amen.
