Tuesday after Reminiscere, 3/13/01Psalm 66: 8--10 Bless our God, O peoples, and sound His praise abroad, Who keeps us in life, and does not allow our feet to slip. For Thou hast tried us, O God; Thou hast refined us as silver is refined. --NASB
In the name of the One Who refines us like silver, amen.
Do you own a water purifier? There are numerous types and brands on the market. To varying degrees they all remove impurities. So the testing of our faith removes impurities from our faith. Perhaps that is one answer to the question, "Why do bad things happen to good people?"
God tests us. He refines our faith in order to make it pure. So, is it good to suffer? Yes, by all means. Suffering creates a purer, stronger faith; a faith that will stand to eternity. Amen.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, You test our faith because You love us and want what is best for us. Help us to accept difficult times and suffering, knowing that they serve to purify our faith, amen.
