Saturday after Reminiscere, 3/17/01

Philippians 1: 29 For to you it has been granted for Christ's sake, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake. --NASB

In the name of the One in Whom we believe, and for Whom some of us suffer, amen.

"The blood of the martyrs is the seed of the church." This is a very true statement. The more Christians were persecuted, the more the faith spread. For this reason, some Christians are given the honor of suffering for Christ. On the one hand it is a test of their faith. On the other it works to spread the holy Gospel.

If you find yourself suffering for Christ, remember the fact that your suffering serves to win others for salvation. Count yourself privileged to suffer for the sake of your Savior. Amen.

Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, make us worthy to suffer for You. Strengthen our faith and win others to eternal life by the crosses we bear for You, amen.
