Galatians 5:13-15 You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love. The entire law is summed up in a single command: "Love your neighbor as yourself. If you keep on biting and devouring each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other. --NIV

In the name of the One Who commands us to love one another, amen.

The flip side of the command against coveting is to serve each other in love. If we love others, we will want good things for them. If we love others, we will be happy that they have the things they have, and not want to take those things away from them.

OK, that is easy to say, and not so easy to do. But when we look at how God loves us, how He gave His only begotten Son for us so that we can have salvation, then we gain the power to love others as well. God truly does love us. And rather than take from us everything that we have, He gave us the greatest gift of all. In addition to that, He also provides everything that we need in life. We really have nothing to covet from other people, because the Lord has richly provided for us. Amen.

Prayer: Dear heavenly Father, thank You for giving us everything that we need in life. More than that, thank You for giving us salvation in our Savior Jesus Christ. Help us to love others as You love us, so that we never desire what doesn't belong to us, amen.
