Monday after Invocavit (He will call) 3/05/01I Corinthians 2: 11 For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man, which is in him? Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God. --NASB
In the name of the One Who knows the thoughts of God, amen.
Wouldn't it be ridiculous to tell G. W. Bush what he was like and to tell him what he did or didn't say regardless of what he really was like and said? Think about going up to our president and saying, "No, you never said anything about a tax cut, and you drove a tank in the gulf war." You might even run the risk of getting locked up for that. And yet, that is exactly what people do with God. They ignore what He says, and they determine what they think He said.
Sometimes we also get caught up in such an attitude. We say, "Oh, I don't think God meant that," or "I can't believe God would do that." But it is not for us to tell God Who and what He is, it is for God to tell us about Himself.
It is good that it is that way, or we would have a lot of confusion. Every single person would want to determine what God should or should not say and do. But when we let God be God and tell us about Himself, then we know the truth. Amen.
Prayer: Dear heavenly Father, You are the source of all knowledge and wisdom. Forgive us for the times when we try to determine what You should be like, rather than humbly listening to what You tell us about Yourself. Keep us in the True Faith by Your powerful, creative word, amen.
