1 Corinthians 3:21, 22 Therefore let no one boast in men. For all things are yours: whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas, or the world or life or death, or things present or things to come--all are yours. --NKJV In the name of the One Who gives us all things, amen.
It would be hard to believe that there can be dissension and coveting in the church, except that most of us have seen it. In fact, some of us have been guilty of it ourselves. We hear a guest preacher and think, “I wish we had him as our pastor.” We visit another church and wish our sanctuary was as beautiful. But Paul reminds us that all things belong to the Christian—some of them are good, and others are not so good. And if everything belongs to the Christian, we really have no reason for coveting what we are not able to make use of at this time. Our Lord is very gracious; He gives us all things in Christ Jesus our Savior. Amen.
Prayer: Dear Lord, You give us everything, and yet we find ourselves coveting what others have. Forgive our sin and help us to rejoice in the gifts that others are using, knowing that we benefit from them as well, amen.
