John3:5, 6 Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. --NASB In the name of the One Who gives us rebirth, amen.
Everyone is justified in the ultimate sense because Jesus died for the sins of the whole world. Unfortunately, that reality is not of benefit to everyone. Not everyone receives the benefit of Christ's death because not everyone has faith. That is, not everyone has been born again. It is in the rebirth of Baptism that a person is taken from death to life. The faith created at the time of Baptism is the thing that connects us to the justifying death of Jesus Christ. God be praised that He gave us rebirth by His Spirit. Amen.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You for Your death on the cross. Thank You also for sending the Holy Spirit to work faith in our hearts through Baptism. Keep us in our baptismal grace that we may be with our heavenly father, and glorify Your name forever, amen.
