Genesis: 24: 42--45a When I came to the spring today, I said, "O Lord, God of my master Abraham, if you will, please grant success to the journey on which I have come. See, I am standing beside this spring; if a maiden comes out to draw water and I say to her, 'Please let me drink a little water from your jar,' and if she says to me, 'Drink and I'll draw water for your camels too,' let her be the one the Lord has chosen for my master's son." Before I finished praying in my heart, Rebekah came out, with her jar on her shoulder. --NIV
In the name of the One Who hears the prayer of the heart, amen.
The Lord, who knows everything, knows the prayer we pray in our heart. As we drive our car, or stand in line at the grocery store and pray, the Lord hears our prayer and will answer it. When we are in a situation of conflict, or when we go to the job interview and pray, the Lord hears our prayer and will answer it. No matter what the situation is, the Lord hears our prayers whether we pray out loud, or in our heart.
This gives a new thought to the idea that we should pray in our room. When we have the attitude that we pray only to talk to God, and not as a show to other people, we can pray in our heart as if we were praying in our room at any time. Our thoughts are directed to the Lord without thoughts of what others might think. Then, our heavenly father who sees what is done in secret, who hears the silent prayer, will reward our prayers. May the Lord hear the prayers you pray in your heart, and grant your requests. Amen.
Prayer: Dear heavenly Father, thank you for hearing the prayers we pray in our heats. Give us Your Holy Spirit to guide us in our prayers so that our prayers are pleasing to You. Answer our prayers as You have promised, and help us to accept the promises you make to us, amen.
