Monday after the Second Sunday of End Time, 11/13/00Luke 21:29-31 He told them this parable: "Look at the fig tree and all the trees. When they sprout leaves, you can see for yourselves and know that summer is near. Even so, when you see these things happening, you know that the kingdom of God is near." --NIV
In the name of the One Who gave us the signs of His coming return, amen.
Last week we looked at being prepared for Jesus' return. This week we look at the sings of His return, so we can know just how close we are to it. It is a fact that Jesus gave specific signs for His return. He said the signs were as certain as the change of seasons. Now, while the signs of the change of seasons does not point to an exact day that we can claim as the change, they certainly tell us it is close. So it is with the signs for Christ's return. They don't indicate the specific day that He will return, but they do tell us it is close.
We have grown so used to the signs all around us that we often overlook them. Therefore it is good for us to meditate on those signs so that we realize just how close we are to the end. In this way, we will be ready, we will do the work Jesus gave us to do, and we will be encouraged as the time drags on. Christ will come and put an end to the suffering of this world. He will create everything new. Where there is faith, there will be reality. Where there is knowledge, it will be surpassed. Where there is love, it will increase. May you be encouraged in these last days. Amen.
Dear heavenly Father, only You know when our Savior will return in glory. The days drag on for us, and it seems like He will never come again. Keep us focused on the fact that Jesus will return. Help us to win many souls for the glory of His holy name. Keep us in the True faith until He comes to take us home, amen.
