Thanksgiving Day, 11/23/00Psalm 106: 1 Oh, give thinks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. --NKJV
In the name of the One Who is merciful, amen.
Welcome to another morning. Welcome to a day given to you by God Himself. Hopefully, today you will sing God's praises in Church. Hopefully, today you will gather together with friends and family and celebrate the incredible generosity of our God who pours out blessing on top of blessing for us to use and enjoy.
We are a sinful people who rarely remember to give thanks to God, let alone live a life of gratitude the way that we should. Still the Lord shows us His mercy. He sent His Son to die for our selfishness so that we could live for Him. May you take time today to reflect on all the good things we have from God. Think of the air you breathe, the house you live in, the water you wash with, the clothes you wear, the food you eat, the car you drive, the TV you watch the game on, the family and friends that you have God's mercy is endless. He provides for you richly and daily. Let your heart be joyful today as you give thanks to the Lord, for He truly is good. Amen.
Prayer: Glory, praise, and thanks to You, O Lord, for You care for all creatures. You provide us with the things we need for this life, and more than that you provide us with the things we need for eternal life. Forgive our thankless hearts and create in us hearts that live for You. Amen.
