Matthew 24:22 If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened. --NIV In the name of the One Who shortens the days of persecution for the sake of the elect, amen.
Some people believe that God doesn’t take an active role in the universe. In fact, there is a song that suggests as much. It says, “God is watching us from a distance.” That song even suggests that God can’t see us very well from that distance. Don’t be fooled by this sort of thinking; God is very active in the universe. In fact, He is so active that He manipulates history and time itself. Why? Because of the elect. God loves His people so very much that He shortens the days of persecution so that His people will not fall from The Faith. Obviously that is a lot of power. And that power protects us so that we remain in The Faith. What a gracious and merciful God we have! Amen.
Payer: Lord God, Your love is more than we are able to comprehend. You govern all things for the good of Your people. Keep us in The True Faith so that we may always praise and glorify Your Holy name, amen.
