Thursday After the First Sunday of End Time, 11/8/01

Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching. Assuredly, I say to you that he will gird himself and have them sit down to eat, and will come and serve them. And if he should come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants. In the name of the One Who encourages us to keep watching, amen.

Are you ready for Jesus to return? If He came right now, would you be ready? Or are there some things you need to get in order first? Do you owe anyone an apology? Is there something you have stolen that you need to pay back? Are there sins that plague your conscience that you need to confess?

Keeping watch for Jesus' return means that you are always ready, and the time to get ready is right now, not tomorrow. You are blessed if you are watching today. If you are watching for Jesus' return, then you are truly doing God's will. If you are watching, you are living in God's grace. If you watch, our Savior Himself will wait on you as He waited on the disciples when He washed their feet. God grant that we all keep watch. Amen.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, it is You Who make us ready for our Savior's return. It is You Who causes us to be ready at all times. Fill us with expectation so that we watch eagerly, waiting for the glorious day when we will be welcomed into heaven itself, amen.
